First propane cargo from Nederland, Texas, terminal heading to Europe

Wed Feb 18 20:58:04 CET 2015 arnekiel

The first propane cargo from the 200,000 b/d Nederland export terminal in Texas completed loading on the vessel Captain Markos NL and is due to arrive Sunday in Antwerp, Belgium, according to Platts cFlow vessel-tracking software. The Captain Markos arrived at the terminal January 20 and started loading January 25, causing delays along the line. “[There were] delays all around actually, Captain Markos left Sunday [February 8],” a shipping source said. Sources are uncertain whether the delays were caused by technical issues. “That is the million-dollar question everyone wants to know,” the source said. “As far as I am aware, yes [there were problems]. The first time a ship berths they need to check the connectors and hoses. Aside from that I do not really know why it took quite that long,” a second shipping source said. Platts cFlow data shows the vessels Crystal Sunrise, Lubara and BW Helios have all loaded at the terminal since the Captain Markos, headed to Teesport in the UK, the Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago and toward the Panama Canal, respectively.
