Technical failure at Gocuk point
The 'Grand' suffered a technical failure at Gocuk point in the Canakkale Strait on Nov 21, 2021. Temporary repair works were carried out by the crew members. Upon completion of its formalities, the vessel was granted a departure permission from the anchorage area to Yalova on Nov 24. It berthed at the pier of the Sefine Shipyard in the evening of Nov 25. Detailed surveys were carried out by the class surveyor along with the owner's superintendent. Subsequently, repair works have been commenced by the shore-based technical teams. The ship remained stationary as of Dec 3.
Engine failure off Gocuk Cape
En route from the Canary Islands to Yalova, the 'Grand' suffered an engine failure off Gocuk Cape on Nov 21, 2021. The ship was moored at the Şevketiye anchorage at 2 a.m. under the coordination of Ship Traffic Services, accompanied by the tugs 'Kurtarma-14' and 'Kurtarma 16', where repairs were commenced by the crew.
