Trawler detained in Tromsø
The "Gadus" was detained in Tromsø after not having reported 140 tonnes of fish caught in the Barents Sea during the recent days. The trawler was seized by the "Sortland" of the Norwegian Coastguard on Feb 22, 2016, after a control 50 miles off Tromsøand taken to the port thereafter. Tme master was imposed to pay a fine of 25,000 Norwegian crowns, and the Herøy based Remøy Management had to endure the confiscation of assets worth around 1,4 millions. Medevac in Varanger Fjord
On Feb 17, 2014, the lifeboat "Reidar von Koss" was called to assist the "Gadus" in the Varanger Fjord at 4.40 p.m. after a deckhand was injured during work on deck. The man was medevaced and taken to Vardø for medical treatment.
