Position sensor exchanged while tanker was NUC
The 'Gaschem Pacific', en route from Port Neches to Stenungsund with 8990,7 tonnes of ethane as cargo and 20 crew members on board, needed to change the engine's position sensor on the exhaust valve No. 6 in position 52 38 12.0 N, 002 51 55.2 E, about 41 nautical miles east of Great Yarmouth on Jan 16, 2022 at around 1 a.m. After the repairs were completed, the vessel resumed its voyage at 02.30 a.m. with an ETA as of Jan 17.
Detention for illegal anchoring
The 'Gaschem Pacific' was detained in the waters of Tanjung Balau in Kota Tinggi in the evening of April 6, 2021, by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency for illegally anchoring in Malaysian waters. Two of the 21 crew members were brought to the Tanjung Sedili Zone Maritime office for further investigations. The ship was mooed in pos. 01° 43.11' N 104° 29.31' E.
Engine problems on the Elbe
After its departure from Bützfleth on Apr 16, 2012, at 1 a.m. the "Gaschem Pacific" encountered engine problems and had to berth at the Steubenhöft in Cuxhaven at 6 a.m. for repairs. Experts from the engine manufacturer Wärtsilä were called to solve the problems.
