Trawler close to being repaired

Sat Dec 01 20:48:50 CET 2018 Timsen

In the last week of November, employees at Ørskov Yard succeeded in starting the main engine of the "Hardhaus" which had suffered serious damage mid of August when the floating dock in Hirtshals capsized. The trawler was caught in the partially flooded floating dock, and large amounts of water penetrated the trawler's engine room. The water caused major damage to the engine room, and subsequently it was not possible to reboot the main engine. One month after the accident, the "Hardhaus" was towed to the Ørskov Yard in Frederikshavn, where extensive repairs started. After restarting the main engine, only a few things remained to be done before the trawler can be returned to the owners. The ship sailed on Dec 16 at 9 p.m. and headed to Haugesund, ETA Dec 17, 7 p.m. https://www.facebook.com/mshardhaus/videos/312029639403866/

Repair of trawler underway

Tue Oct 02 18:07:31 CEST 2018 Timsen

The repair of the "Hardhaus" will cost 40 million Norwegian crowns. There was a lot of work to be done on the machines - on both auxiliaries, axle generator and gear. All pumps have been damaged and needed to be repaired, and much electronics needed to be replaced. Also the damage to the hull has to be repaired. The work was already under way at the Ørskov Yard in Frederikshavn, and the owner hoped that the repair would be completed by Christmas.
