Longliner confined off La Réunion
The 'Ile de la Réunion II' which had sailed on March 19, 2020 for a new fishing campaign of several months, was forced to turn around just a few days after its departure because two sailors showed symptoms suggesting a possible coronavirus infection. When the longliner returned to La Réunion in the middle of last week, the patients were evacuated. Since then, the ship has been confined to the coast of Réunion, for fear in particular that the return of sailors to their families posed risks of contamination. The first tests of the sailors were negative, but the results of a second testing was still pending as of March 31.
