Perpetrators stole mooring ropes

Thu Oct 22 18:30:16 CEST 2020 Timsen

The 'Maersk Rubicon', being moored in position 04 46 00S, 011 47 00E, at the Pointe Noire Anchorage, Republic of the Congo, was boarded by three or four perpetrators, on Oct 19, 2020, at 2.07 a.m. Crew members spotted them on the forecastle of the vessel, raised alarm and withdrew into the citadel. A patrol vessel was dispatched to the anchorage and conducted an inspection. At first light, a search of the vessel was carried out by the crew members and they noticed that two mooring ropes had been stolen. The perpetrators may have gained access to the vessel via the anchor chain.

Hanjin Aqua still aground on the Sundra Strait

Mon Dec 07 10:47:40 CET 2015 arnekiel

The 4,500 teu Hanjin Aqua remains hard aground in Indonesia’s Sundra Strait. The Korean vessel ran aground off Sangiang island on Friday. It has 2,303 boxes onboard and was travelling from Adelaide to Jakarta when it ran into difficulty. The ship has listed and local reports suggest the hull has breached although there is no danger of the ship sinking. The local coastguard is on the scene assessing the situation. A Hanjin spokesperson confirmed to Splash this morning that the ship still cannot move. “There is no reported casualties or marine pollution and the cause of the accident is currently under investigation,” the spokesperson said. http://splash247.com/hanjin-aqua-aground-on-the-sundra-strait/
