Repairs in Tuzla completed
Permanent repairs of the 'Tiber River' have been completed at the shipyard in Tuzla. The former 'Lyubov' has been shifted to the anchorage area, and next sea trials were to be carried out under supervision of a class surveyor and the technical superintendent of the owner. Then, a new set of trading certificates will be issued by the classification society and flag state authority. The vessel remained stationary at Yalova Anchorage as of Dec 25.
Disabled ship under tow to Tuzla
The 'Lyubov' which had suffered a technical failure at Piraeus on June 10, 2021, was takein in tow by the tug 'Pantokrator' (IMO:9376880) on Aug 27 at 4.30 p.m. after repairs could not be carried out by the crew. The ship was to be taken to Tuzla for permanent repairs with an ETA as of Aug 31.
Owner reappeared, defiencies to be fixed
The "Lyubov" ist stuck in Aviles since Dec 19, 2016, with 4500 tons of fertilizers on board, and a 14 crew of Ukrainians and Russians due to a problem between owner and charterer. For some time, the vessel was considered as abandoned, as the crew was unable to contact the owner and had to be supported by the local Red Cross. Meanwhile the owner reappeared in order to settle the problems and renew the contract. The PSC meanwhile found some detainable deficiencie which were to be fixed soon, so that the vessel may leave port in about two weeks time.
