The Stena Line operated the ferry on the Kiel–Gothenburg route from 1987 to 2010 as “Stena Germanica.” It was then transferred to the Karlskrona–Gdynia route and renamed “Stena Vision.” In 2023, it was replaced by a new vessel. From 2023 to 2025, she sailed between Ireland and France before being replaced there by newer vessels. In the autumn of 2025, there was an attempt to deploy the ship between Africa and Europe with the shipping company African Morocco Link (AML). Stena Line has a stake in this company. Due to its size, the ferry was unsuitable for use in the port of Tanger Med. Stena ferry sold to Corsica Ferries to be used as Mega Serena
The Corsica Ferries have just completed the sale of the ro-pax vessel 'Mega Express Five' to the Tarco Marine of Dubai, the same company that in previous years also acquired the 'Corsica Marina Seconda' and 'Corsica Victoria' and have instead bought the 'Stena Vision', which has recently operated on the Rosslare-Cherbourg route and will join the fleet as 'Mega Serena' and replace the 'Mega Express Five', which has been deployed on routes connecting southern France with Corsica and Golfo Aranci in Sardinia. In summer 2024, the Stena Line had started theroute Rosslare-Cherbourg with the 'Stena Vision'. This summer it was announced that the shipping company had chosen to close the line at the end of September. Since then, the future of the 'Stena Vision' had been unclear until being sold to the Tita Two S.R.L (Corsica Ferries).
Berthing trials in Tanger Med
The 'Stena Vision', which a week ago ended the Rosslare-Cherbourg route, arrived at the North African port of Tanger Med on Oct 6, followed by a passage across the Strait of Gibraltar to Algeciras for berthing trials. On Oct 7, the ferry berthed at the Gibdock shipyard in Gibraltar. Since Stena Line withdrew the cruise ferry after sailing on Sep 30 on the Ireland-France route, their only link between the Republic and mainland Europe, the cruise ferry initially anchored off the Wexford ferryport. On Oct 1, Brittany Ferries increased capacity and became the route's new sole operator, while the 'Stena Vision' departed on a much longer voyage, involving the Bay of Biscay and offshore of the Iberian Peninsula states of Portugal.
