Water ingress due to ice

The 'Pano-01' asked for emergency assistance and got allowed entry into the port of Olya after water had started leaking into the engine room while transiting the Volga-Caspian Sea Navigation Canal (VKMSK) on Jan 21, 2023, at km mark 70-80 en route from Astrakhan to the port of Amirabad with a cargo of grain in heavy ice conditions. The MRCC deployed sump motor pumps and submersible pumps on the vessel in case of increased water ingress. A plug plaster was placed on the hull. The water leakage has been reduced to a minimum and then completely eliminated. On board the vessel, rescuers organized emergency duty. The Master of the vessel made sure that the vessel's pumps were working, and the ship proceeded to Olya.

Fire in Chioggia

A fire broke out aboard the "Phobus" in the afternoon of July 28, 2017, at Chiogga. It was caused by sparks during welding works. Before the crew was able to close the holds, also part of the cargo caught fire. Fire engines arrived at the berth a few minutes after the emergency call, and the fire was extinguished. A part of the cargo of timber and crates –was damaged. The vessel had arrived at Chioggia on July 24 at 10.50 a.m., coming from Azov via Istanbul and Barletta.

Woman swam for several hours in Black sea after falling overboard from m/v Phobus

A woman, crew member of a general cargo vessel Phobus, fell overboard in the morning hours on July 4 2012 in Black sea. Phobus was en route from Poti, Georgia, to Azov, Russia, and at the time of an accident was near Tuapse port. Vessel took an opposite course to search for a woman, and contacted authorities. A helicopter has been sent to the area, woman was spotted and airlifted around noon Moscow time, and taken to hospital in Sochi. At 15:00 UTC Phobus resumed voyage. Woman, who’s a cook, is in good health after swimming several hours in sea. Maritime Bulletin http://www.odin.tc
