Urgent calls for release of crew

Wed Jul 17 13:16:36 CEST 2019 Timsen

Urgent calls have been made for the release of the 13 crew members of the "Sea Horizon", which is arrested off Ghana. The vessel was seized 10 months ago after the Nigerian company Fortune Global Shipping & Logistics claimed it was owed $1.9 million from another Nigerian company, Ranger Subsea. The Managing company of the vessel said that the vessel was without power and the owners were refusing to provide funds for fuel. The pipe layer was being held at the Sekondi Naval Base since September 2018. The Fortune Global was alleging another Nigerian company, the Ranger Subsea, owing it 1.9 million U.S. dollars under an agreement to support its marine construction operations.

Fri Jul 12 14:18:17 CEST 2019 Timsen

The "Sea Horizon" was being arrested and held at the Sekondi Naval Base, Ghana, with 13 crew members on board. The initial arrest was ordered in September 2018 in Ghana, with Fortune Global alleging another Nigerian company, Ranger Subsea, owed it 1.9 million U.S. dollars under an agreement to support its marine construction operations. The vessel continued to languish in Ghana as the legal fight over its release heads to New York.
