Tanker renamed under repair
While the repair of the fire damaged electrical system of the 'Sukran C' was still being carried out in shipyard in Tuzla, where the ship had arrived on Jan 31, a new set of spare parts has been provided by owners. As repairs of the 'Sukran C' could not be carried out by its crew, the Dutch tug 'Sea Alfa' (IMO: 9466271) was deployed from Setubal on Dec 29 to tow the vessel to Tekirdag for permanent repairs. The towage commenced on Jan 2, 2021, with an ETA as of Jan 22. The ship had suffered a fire on Nov 23. The owner contracted the Russian Salvage SAR ship 'Spasateel Demidov' (IMO: 9681443), to tow the tanker to La Coruna for repairs, ETA Nov 28.
