Bulkcarrier with pipes for South Stream pipeline grounded off Burgas
On Jan 3, 2015, the "Sunrise" ran aground in shallow waters off the port entrance of Burgas while attempting to enter the port.The ship had on board a cargo of pipes loaded in Brake for the South Stream pipeline project though it was unclear why the pipes were still getting delivered in spite of the stop of the construction. The tug "Maersk Tracer" jointly with two other tugs was able to refloat the ship which was moored in the port since.
