Bulkcarrier boarded by robbers
While the 'Team Hope' was anchored at the Nacala anchorage, Mozambique, at least four robbers armed with long knives in a wooden boat came alongside the vessel in position 14 22 9S, 040 42.1E, on Nov 2, 2020, at 11.30 p.m. The perpetrators boarded the vessel using hooks, attached with ropes, and broke into the paint locker. The duty crew on routine rounds noticed them, alerted the duty officer, and retreated into the accommodation. The alarm was raised and the crew mustered. Meanwhile, the robbers fled from the vessel with the stolen ship's stores and escaped. The local agents were informed.
