Sun Sep 16 23:44:50 CEST 2018 Timsen

The departures of the "Tingvoll" from Kanestraum on Sep 14, 2018, at 11.30 p.m. and from Halsa at midnight were canceled due to technical problems. The ferry service across the Halsafjord was suspended in the early morning. After the trouble was resolved, the ferry was back in normal operation on Sep 15 at 3 a.m.

Ferry disabled in Edøyfjord

Sun Jan 07 16:43:44 CET 2018 Timsen

In the foremidday of Jan 7, 2018, at 10.30 a.m. the "Tingvoll" suffered an engine failure in the Edøyfjord between Smøla and Tustna with a crew of four and two passengers with their vehicles on board. The ship was disabled in winds of 42 meters per second and wave heights of some meters. The anchors were dropped at 11.50 a.m. to stop the drift 500 meters from the ferry port on Edøya. The lifeboat "Erik Bye" initially went on standby, waiting for the "Horn Flyer" which came to assist as well as the "Njård" of the Coastguard and the patrol boat "HPB 3" (MMSI-No.: 258008200) were called too. At 1 p.m. both lifeboats had their lines connected to the ferry. They managed to pull and push the ferry to the quay in Edøya in Smøla at 1.42 p.m., escorted on their way by the "Njård". The ferry was berthed at Kristiansund for repairs around 10 p.m. The route 54 Edøya - Sandvika was canceled due to the trouble. A the same time the lifeboat "Bjarne Kyrkjebø" had to tow a floating dock with a house on it to a jetty in the Fana Fjord.
