Schooner suffered water ingress in Kiel
On Sep 13, 2020, at 12.30 p.m. the ‘Zuversicht‘ reported water ingress at its berth in the Germania Port in Kiel. The ship started to settle, and the crew alerted the fire brigade Kiel which attended with 30 men of different station and an emergency boat. An oil boom was laid out around the ship, and pumps were activated to drain the water. Finally the vessel could be stabilized. It has actually no engine on board after it failed on Aug 8 on the Kiel Fjord. After the port ferry 'Schwentine' took it alongside and towed it back to the port, it was dismantled for repairs.
Medevac at Kiel l/h
In the evening of Aug 23, 2018, the lifeboat "Berlin" of the DEGzRS station Laboe medevaced an injuerd man from the "Zuversicht" in Kiel bight. The 24 year old man had suffered severe burns at the hand and neaded immediate medical treatment. The lifeboat left the port at 5.30 p.m. bound to the schooner off Kiel l/h. The daughter boat "Steppkke" was launched and went alongside to take the man off. He was treated in the ship's hospital of the "Berlin" and transferred to an ambulance in Laboe which took him to hospital.
