Bulkcarrier in drydock for repairs of engine

The "Achilles II" requested entry into the port of Cadiz for the transhipment of its cargo onto the cargo vessel "Dione", chartered by the owners of the bulk carrier, to complete the voyage to final destination. On July 23 the transhipment concluded and on July 27 the vessel entered a dry dock in the Navantia Shipyard to carry out the necessary repairs. The vessel had suffered a main engine breakdown off the Bahamas. and an LOF was signed to Tsavliris Russ (World Wide Salvage and Towage) Ltd. on May 12. The ship reached Freeport, Bahamas on May 17 and Cadiz on June 18.

The "Achilles II", enroute from Plaquemines Parish Port bound to Alexandria, suffered an engine breakdown off the Bahamas East of Fort Lauderdale. An LOF was signed by the Tsavliris Russ (World Wide Salvage and Towage) Ltd, on May 12, 2019. The vessel was towed to Freeport on May 17 at 2.50 p.m. After the ship’s engine couldn’t be fixed in the port, the ship left on May 29 being towed by the AHTS "Alp Defender" (IMO: 9737242), towards Lisbon Portugal, ETA June 19.
