Container ship adrift off Solander Island

The 'SM Portland' was disabled and adrift due to engine problems in position 50 13 06 N, 128 15 03 W 14,06 nautical miles westnorthwest of Solander Island, British Columbia, on Sep 28, 2021, around 8 p.m. The crew commenced with repair works, and the ship resumed its voyage from Vancouver to Ningbo at 11.45 p.m. with an ETA as of Oct 8.

Robbers stole ship's equipment

On Sep 6, 2020, at 4.30 a.m. the duty able seaman of the 'Arguello' noticed that the lock of the bosun's store was broken, at the south harbour anchorage of Manila in position 14 33 15.0N, 120 52 12.6E. The general alarm was raised immediately. Following a search of the bosun's store, it was revealed that the ship's stores including fire nozzles, fireman suits, breathing apparatuses, unlocking twist lock, a flashlight and a scaling machine, had been stolen. The incident was reported to the Manila port authorities and the Philippine Coast Guard.
