Collision off Karystos
The 'Amelia', en route from Istanbul with 24 crew members and a cargo of 3000 metric tonnes of gas oil on board, was in collision with the tanker 'Tanab' (IMO: 9803429), en route from Aliaga to Varna with 16 crew members on board, south of Karystos island on July 7, 2022, at roudn 1 a.m. LT. No injuries, water pollution or water ingress were reported due to this incident. Both vessels sailed with own power, but under the supervision of the Greek Coast Guard, at Karystos anchorage, for invesigations, repairs and the class inspection. The 'Amelia' was moored in pos. 37° 58.99' N 024° 26.02' E as of July 8, the 'Tanab' in pos. 37° 59.07' N 024° 25.24' E.
Perpetrators stole engine parts
The 'Amelia' was boarded by three perpetrators while proceeding in the eastbound lane of the Singapore Strait, in position 01 15 00N, 104 06 00E, on Pct 5, 2021, at 6.30 p.m. The Master of the tanker conducted checks on board. The crew was accounted for, and some engine parts were reported stolen. The 'Amelia' did not require any assistance and has continued its voyage to its next port of call Zhuhaiwith an ETA as of Oct 13.
Detained tanker released
On Jan 7, 2020, Saudi Arabia forces released the 'Adventourous' after a 25-day long detention in the southern Red Sea. The tanker with 30,000 tons of diesel oil on board headed for its port of destination, Al Hudaydah, which was held by Houthi forces. In the of evening of Jan 9, the tanker was approaching the port. Nine more tankers were remaining in detention, with 157,000 tons of gasoline and 94,000 tons of diesel on board in total, some of them for already more than two months.
