Anna broke down in Port Mathurin

The "Anna", which was due to leave Port Mathurin bound to Port-Louis last weekend, having berthed there on Aug 25, 2017, was still disabled at the dock in the capital of Rodrigues due to an engine failure. The vessel was to transport a contingent of 80 cattle following an order from the Mauritius Meat Authority. The oxen, which had already been transported to the cattle pen in the port, had to be transported to St. Gabriel. At Agro-industry, it was stressed that everything had been done to bring the animals to the country before the Eid-ul-Adha festival that will be celebrated on Sep 2. With this breakdown of ship, it is not until next week that the animals will land in Mauritius. A German technician was dispatched to the island start of the week for repairs of the engine. The "Anna" has meanwhile been taken in tow to Port Louis by the Malta flagged tug "Ioian Sea Fos" (IMO: 8110796) to Port Louis, ETA Sep 8.
