Thu Sep 06 10:19:32 CEST 2018 Timsen

On Sep 5 the tugs "Achilleas" and "Pantokrator" were called to the "Arslanbey" which was stuck in position 38 59 03 N, 023 06 45 E since the evening of Sep 4 as the vessel could not refloat with its own power. Structural damages were noted on the bottom plating of the foreship. An incident investigation file has been placed by the harbour master. The vessel arrived at Kavkaz Anchorage on Sep 23.

Freighter grounded on Evia

Wed Sep 05 09:38:04 CEST 2018 Timsen

On Sep 4, 2018, around 8 p.m. the "Arslanbey" ran aground at the Kanatadika coast in the north of Evia island. The freighter was en route from Amaliapolis to Istanbul. The crew of 14 was not injured in the grounding. The ship had not turned to portside as it should off the island but continued sailing straight ahead, until it got stuck in the sandy bay. Two patrol boats of the port of Limenikos sailed to the incident site, while the owner company was assigned to coordinate the salvage of the ship.
