Xavier broke los car carrier

On Oct 5, 2017, the car carrier "Cygnus Leader" (IMO: 9381249) broke off its moorings in the North port of Bremerhaven in gusts of the storm "Xavier". The ship was pushed against the berthed vehicles carrier "Asian King" before tugs got it back under control. The "Asian King" left the port bound to Gothenburg at 7 p.m. The "Cygnus Leader" which had arrived from Izmit on Oct 4 at 10 p.m. was pulled back to berth N. It had suffered damage to its stern ramp. International Shipholding sells 2 Pure Car Truck Carriers

Mobile, Alabama, headquartered International Shipholding Corporation (NYSE: ISH) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Norwegian Car Carriers ASA for the sale of two of its international flag Pure Car Truck Carriers. The transaction is scheduled to close by the end of the first quarter and will generate proceeds of approximately $73.9 million. According to information published by Norwegian Car Carriers, the two ships are the Asian King and the Asian Emperor built at Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., South Korea in 1998 and 1999 respectively.
