Engine failure off Vancouver Island
The 'Ravel' suffered an engine failure West of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, in position 49 18 13.0N, 123 06 31.0W, on May 14, 2021, at 1.10 p.m. The crew carried out repairs and the vessel resumed its voyage. It had sailed from Vancouver the same day and was enroute to Tomakomai, ETA May 25.
Freighter disabled in storm
The "Bardu" was caught in stormy weather in the East China Sea and suffered a power loss in the night of July 19, 2019, 25 miles off the Yangtze estuary. At 05.30 a.m. on July 20 the East China Sea MRCC sent the SAR ship "Dong Hai Jiu 101" (IMO: 9654816) to assist the disabled ship. In the afternoon it managed to take it on tow. At 7 p.m. the "Bardu" was moored at the Hua Shan Anchorage.
