CARIBE LIZA 9352133

Wed Jan 12 18:38:49 CET 2011 Timsen

On Jan 11 at 10.50 p.m. the "Bertina" was in collision with the 23,6 m long Dutch f/v "Berend Cornelis", 89 gt, seven miles south of Helgoland. By reasons unknown yet the tank m/v did not stop, but proceeded to Brunsbuettel where it berthed at Ostermoor oon Jan 12 around 5 a.m. The police boat "BP 24 - Bad Bramstedt" proceeded to the Dutch f/v which suffered a hole of 10x10 cm in the stern. One of the two crew members was hurt at the head. The "Bad Bramstedt" escorted the ship to Helgoland where the man was treated in the island hospital, but meanwhile released. No pollution reported, the amount of damage is unknown yet. German report with photo of stern damage: http://www.presseportal.de/polizeipresse/pm/70256/1747070/bundespolizeidirektion_bad_bramstedt
