Medevac at Matagorda Anchorage

A Coast Guard boat crew medevaced a 27-year-old man from the "Boraq" about six miles offshore in the Matagorda Anchorage in the morning of Jan 16. At 9:20 a.m., the crew of the "Boraq" called Sector Corpus Christi watchstanders and stated the chief officer had been experiencing blurry vision, headaches and vomiting since suffering a fall on Jan 15. atchstanders launched a boat crew aboard a Station Port O'Connor 29-foot response boat with an EMT trained Coast Guardsman to respond. The man was taken onto the response boat and back to Station Port O'Connor where he was transferred to local EMS who took him to Memorial Medical Center in Port Lavaca.
