Offshore ship disabled with electrical failure
The "Caballo Marango", was moored on the Ciudad del Carmen anchorage with electric faults and insufficient fuel since Aug 1, 2017. The company that owns the ship has alerted the federal judge who was in charge of the bankruptcy to keep the ship Min possession even though it has already been ordered to return to the Shanara Maritime company. The port captain of Isla del Carmen was contacted to investigate after the AIS was turned off, and the crew reported that the fault was caused by an electrical failure and insufficient fuel. Judge Benito Zurita ordered the detention of the ship on Aug 4.
