On Aug 1, 2019, the "Chia Kin No. 2" ran aground at Pu-Tai Commercial Harbour, Budai Port, in the Chiayi County at Taiwan's west coast. The ship got out of control due to adverse weather brought by typhoon Wipha. The eight crew members, among the six of Taiwan nationality, were evacuated from board by 8.30 p.m. by the port authority, patrol officers, the Chiayi County Fire Department and others using a crane with a basket.
