DeepOcean nets Belgian offshore contract

DeepOcean 1 UK Ltd, a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group Holding BV, has won an inter array cable installation contract for the Blight Bank Phase II offshore windfarm in Belgium. The Bligh Bank Phase II offshore windfarm is being developed by Nobelwind NV with 50 3.3MW wind turbines offshore Belgium that will have an estimated generating power of 165MW. The individual WTGs are to be connected in strings with 33kV inter-array cables, linking back to the Nobelwind Offshore High Voltage Substation (OHVS). An export cable will connect the Nobelwind OHVS to the existing 220kV Northwind OHVS. All assigned key vessels and assets are part of DeepOcean’s fleet. The DP2 Support Vessel Deep Helder will support cable lay operations executing crossing preparations, surveys, foundation preparation for the cable pull-ins. New Offshore Support vessel DEEP HELDER of Seamar christened

On Friday 20th. of June, the new Offshore Support vessel DEEP HELDER of Seamar in Den Helder was christened at the Cruise quay in IJmuiden. The DEEP HELDER will work in charter of DeepOcean B.V., a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group Holding, who will operate the vessel on survey, IMR and trenching projects for their customers in the Oil & Gas renewable markets, for which the vessel is equipped with an offshore crane, Survey and ROV systems. The 65 m long DP2 class vessel is designed for low fuel consumption, clean ship/green passport/SPS2008 and high comfort class notation (Comf1). A total of 52 personnel can be accommodated on the vessel.
