Sat May 01 18:53:08 CEST 2010 Timsen

At 7.11 in the morning of May 1, the "Steigen" on its way from Bodoe to some fish farms in the region ran aground in the Hellsøy sound in the Namsos community. The 51-m-vessel which is operated by Dønna Brønnbåtservice suffered water ingress in the foreship due to bow damage suffered. The rescue boat "Harald V" was called and went alongside on starboard side in order to patch the leak. After the ship was dewatered, it was intended to try to refloat it with the rising tide and tow it to a repair facility. The ship had got stuck directly underneath the road connecting Vemundvik and Lund. The crew of 4 was not hurt.
