Tanker approached by suspicious boat

The 'Eliana' was approached by a small boat with unidentified persons, while berthed at the Shorelink Jetty in Port Harcourt on Sep 5, 2020, at 01.15 a.m. The Nigerian naval security team on board directed the spotlight toward the approaching boat, but it continued its approach. The naval security fired three warning shots, which caused the boat to move away. The crew conducted a search of the tanker and found no robbers on board. The port authorities responded to the incident. The crew was reported to be safe.

Two pirate attacks off Nigerian coast

Two vessels were attacked by pirates in the morning of Nov 23, 2016. The "Eliana" was attacked in position 03 50 N 005 00E, the PSV "Kendrick 2" in position 03 30N 005 20E. Both vessels were believe to have been attacked by the same group in the same area 60-70 miles off the Bayelsa coast in the Gulf of Guinea. The "Eliana" was en route from Port Harcourt to Lagos, the PSV "Kendrick 2 " from an oil field to Onne.
