Bulk carrier rescued crew of sinking crane ship
On Dec 28, 2022, the 'STL Miracle' rescued the 37 crew members of the Indonesian-flagged crane ship 'Ark Shiloh', sank in the waters of the Bangka Strait due to bad weather and a leak in the ballast tanks on the starboard side during an to take shelter due to bad weather and large waves. The entire crew of the 'Ark Shiloh' and the 'STL Miracle' attempted to pump out the water, but were unable to handle the water ingress, and the ship continued to tilt. The crew of ship had to evacuate onto the bulk carrier, to which they originally had provided coal transfer services. The castaway were taken to Palembang.
