Water ingress in cargo hold
The "Banos A.", while en route from Gwangyang, where she had sailed on March 1, 2018, destined to Gemlik, experienced water ingresses in cargo hold number three. Damaged cargoes were found inside the hold at Gemlik two days after its arrival in port on Apr 4. The vessel was carrying steel coils. The vessel shifted from the Rota Port in Gemlik to Izmit Kocaeli on Apr 8 in order to discharge the remaining cargo on board. Detailed surveys will be carried out by P&I and cargo underwriters surveyors upon completion of discharge operation in order to ascertain the cause of the incident.
