Injured fisherman medevaced to Brest

A crew member of the 'Scuderia' was airlifted by helicopter on April 20, 2026, off the coast of Finistère, after he was injured aboard the fishing vessel, which was sailing 66 nautical miles west of Ushant. At around 4:45 p.m., the CROSS Corsen launched a rescue operation off the coast of Finistère. A H160 Belligou helicopter, based in Lanvéoc, was deployed to medevac the fisherman. After taking off at 5:44 p.m., it arrived on scene at 6:15 p.m. The sailor was hoisted aboard the helicopter at 7:14 p.m. and transferred to the Cavale-Blanche Hospital Center in Brest.

A medical evacuation of a fisherman from the 'Scuderia' to port of Roscoff took place on April 25, 2021, at 2 p.m. in the middle of the English Channel. The man was transported by helicopter to the Cavale Blanche hospital center in Brest. The trawler had sounded the alert at 12:30 p.m., seeking medical advice from the Maritime Telemedical Assistance Service (TMAS) of the Maritime Medical Consultations Center at the Toulouse University Hospital Center. The trawler was_about 70 miles from the coast, at the entrance to the English Channel. It was decided to dispatch a Caiman helicopter from the French Navy base Lanveoc-Poulmic to the scene with a civilian medical team from the SMUR. The sick sailor was hoisted aboard the helicopter at 2:10 p.m. He was taken care of by the emergency department at the Cavale Blanche hospital in Brest shortly before 3:00 p.m. The 'Scuderia' finished its fishing campaign before heading for the port of Saint-Brieuc.
