Water tanker repaired after allision with Karessa

The Estonian flagged water tanker 'Crystalwater' (IMO: 9148843) left the port of Tallinn on Dec 1, 2021, at 9 p.m., and anchored off Paldiski early on Dec 2, after the damages caused by the allision with the 'Karessa' , which occurred while the ship was manoeuvring to leave the Vene-Balti Harbour in Tallinn on Aug 27, were repaired. The accident had caused damage to both vessels but there were no 'Crystalwater' had suffered damage to its starboard bridge wing and outer shell plating above the waterline, while the 'Karessa' had suffered damage to its bulwark plating above forecastle deck. During the subsequent damage assessment, no defects were found on the propulsion control system of the 'Karessa'. She left Tallinn for Vyborg on Aug 28, after repairs were carried out to its bulwark plating forward, and arrived on Sep 1. The repairs to the bridge wing of the 'Crystalwater' were carried out afloat on Sep 1, and the repairs to its shell plating were finalized in dry dock in Nov 2021.

Engine failure off North Ireland

On April 10, 2021, the 'Gerarda', while enroute from Belfast to Ipswich, suffered a main engine failure after an oil hose came off, 9,2 miles Southeast of St. John's Point in position 54 07 27N, 005 27 37W. The vessel required minor repairs which were expected to take about an hour. After these were completed, the ship resumed its voyage with an ETA as of April 13.
