Technical failure in Istanbul Strait
The 'Hak', while en route from Oktyabrsk to Bandirma, suffered a technical failure after entering the Istanbul Strait from the northern entrance on July 26, 2021. The ship moored at Büyükdere Anchorage at 8.30 a.m. The crew commenced repairs, and on July 27 at 12.20 p.m. the vessel anchored off Bandirma.
Technical failure at Mersin
The 'Hak' suffered a technical failure at Mersin on Oct 20, 2020. The departure permission to Odessa has been cancelled by the Harbour Master until the completion of repairs and an inspection. After the completion of cargo operations, the vessel was shifted from the inner port to the port's anchorage. Repairs were carried out by the crew. The vessel remained stationary in pos. 36° 45.48' N 034° 37.89' E at Mersin anchorage until Oct 22. The vessel was expected to arrive at Odessa on Oct 28.
Fire in engine room
On Feb 20, 2020, at 7 a.m. a fire broke out in the engine room boiler of the 'Hak' during the transit of the Dardanelles in western direction. Coastal safety tugs immediately attended the ship. The vessel was moored north of Gelibolu anchorage under supervision of the tugs at 11 a.m. The fire was extinguished by the crew. Cooling operations were carried out at the anchorage. The transit permission has been cancelled by the Strait authority until completion of a technical inspection and the state surveyor's further approval. The disabled ship was later moored off the Demirtepe coast. The ship was en route from Berdiansk via Istanbul to Haifa with a cargo of barley and an ETA as of Feb 24.
