Hazar underway again

After the engine trouble aboard the "Hazar" was rectified by the crew, the vessel proceeded to Istanbul Roads on its own power, under the escort of a tug and dropped anchor there on Aug 13 at 11.15 a.m. The shipo stayed there until the administrative enquiries were completed. It has also been reported that fines have been paid. On Aug 15 the ship was sailing again with an ETA at Livorno as of Aug 19, 6 p.m.

Ship adrift in Bosphorus

Enroute from Aradeniz to Livorno the "Hazar" suffered a technical malfunction in Çengelköy in the morning of Aug 13, 2018, under the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge and went adrift in the Bosphorus. The ship narrowly escaped hitting one of the famous historical mansions on the Bosphorus embankment by dropping her anchors and reversing engine to full astern. Shortly after a full stop, the ship resumed moving under own power, made a loop and anchored near the shore Anadolu Hisarı. Boats of the Coast Guard atttended and could move the ship towards the Marmara Sea 1,5 hours later. On Aug 13 the pilot boat "Bayrak 4" attended the vessel at its mooring off Istanbul in pos. 40° 58.85' N 028° 56.73' E. Bulker disabled in Bosporus

The "Zealand Amalia" was disabled early in the morning of May 28, 2015, while approaching the Bosporus in the Black Sea. The bulkcarrier was anchored three miles north of Turkish coast east of the northern entrance of the Bosporus. It was en route from Mariupol to Venice.
