Ship waiting for buyer in Vienna

Sat Jan 29 18:32:04 CET 2022 Timsen

The 'Princess Sophie' has been berthed in Vienna since the beginning of the pandemic. The owner has gone bankrupt and a buyer is being sought. Since the bankruptcy of the owner, the liquidator has had the ship looked after and guarded around the clock, because there have already been attempts at break-in, and someone has tried to untie the ship. From time to time the engine is started, and the situation is checked weekly by the shipping authority in Vienna. Report with photos and video: https://wien.orf.at/stories/3140759/

Collision on the Waal

Thu Aug 25 12:19:15 CEST 2016 Timsen

In the evening of Aug 24, 2016, at 7.30 p.m. the "Hemingway" (EU-No.: 01822735) was in collision with a barge on the Waal at Deest. None of the 79 passengers of the river cruise ship nor crew members wer injured. Rijkswaterstaat escorted it to a Yard in Dodewaard for investigations. The ship which should have been in Cologne in the afternoon of Aug 25 had to spend the day there or make a trip to Nijmegen. The cargo ship which was carrying cement was detained too. The collision seemed to have been caused by rudder issues of the "Hemingway".
