‘Jag Laadki’ Master Banned from Fujairah Following Collisions

Wed Mar 01 19:41:12 CET 2017 arnekiel

The captain of the Indian tanker that rammed the side of a LNG carrier and another vessel while navigating through vessels at a Fujairah offshore anchorage has been banned from commanding vessels calling at the port, a document from Port of Fujairah shows. The port has also imposed a fine of nearly $22,000. The accident occurred February 23 as the Indian-flagged MT Jag Laadki made contact with the anchored LNG carriers Al Khattiya and later Iglc Anka at the Fujairah Offshore Anchorage in the United Arab Emirates. http://gcaptain.com/jag-laadki-master-banned-from-fujairah-following-collisions/?utm_campaign=Roost&utm_source=Roost&utm_medium=push

Allision on Fujairah Roads

Mon Feb 27 18:37:35 CET 2017 Timsen

The "Al Kahttiya" was damaged in a collision with the "Jag Laadki" which struck the moored LNG tanker on Fujairah Anchorage, in the Gulf of Oman, on Feb 23, 2017. Two ballast tanks were breached, but there was no pollution. The hull was punctured above and below the waterline on its starboard side and the deck breached, dented and bent. The ship dropped anchor on Fujairah roads on Feb 23, having previously sailed from Thamesport on Feb 6. The ship was in the process of burning the remains of LNG which were still within the pressure tanks, despite the fact that in principle they were empty. Only when the ship is absolutely empty of LNG, it may be allowed to proceed to port for repairs.
