3rd August 01:50 pm 2011. Bermuda Radio received a satellite phone call from the M.T. Atlantic Diana to report a fire in the engine room. The Hong Kong registered, 29,266 GRT Chemical Tanker was approximately 454nm ENE of Bermuda at the time of the incident. The Atlantic Diana reported the fire was caused by high temperature from a main engine generator exhaust. Smoke in the engine room activated the ships fixed fire fighting system and the fire was extinguished. The Master of the Atlantic Diana contacted Bermuda Radio to confirm the fire was extinguished and all crew onboard were safe and accounted for. The Atlantic Diana resumed her passage to Tuxpan, Mexico. Bermuda Radio
