Vessel suffered steering gear hydraulic issue

The 'Lavr', while enroute from Huelva, suffered a steering gear hydraulic issue while transiting from the pilot station to a berth in Foynes on Sep 29, 2020. The pilots reported the same to the port state control, who attended and issued domestic orders for repair works to be carried out. Workshop members resolved the issues, and the vessel was allowed to sail. On Oct 1 at 8.10. p.m. the vessel berthed in Limerick.

Disabled container ship towed to Flushing

The 'Lavr', while en route from Flushing to Jorf Lasfar, Morocco, with 3871 tonnes of metal scrap and 12 crew members on board, suffered an engine fault and was disabled in position 50 36 24.6 N, 000 20 37.8 E, on March 18, 2020, at 12.20 p.m. The vessel subsequently anchored in the southwest bound lane of the Dover Strait. Initially no tug and Coastguard assistance were required while the crew tried to repair the damage. After the repair attempts failed, tug assistance finally was required. The Dutch tug 'Multratug 18' (IMO: 9492880) was deployed from Flushing on March 19 at 2.45 a.m. and arrived on scene at 6 a.m. The 'Lavr' was taken in tow, and the convoy arrived at the quay of the Schelde Group of theDamen Shipyards in Flushing on March 20 at 6 a.m. where the 'Lavr' was berthed for repairs.

Cargo ship suffered water pump trouble

The "Lavr" suffered problems with the water pump of the main engine in position 49 57 19 N, 004 48 27.4 W, on Feb 27, 2019, at midnight. Subsequently, the water pump was replaced and the vessel continued its voyage from Boulogne.sur-Mer, where it had sailed on Feb 27 at 1.15 a.m., to Drogheda, where it arrived in the foremidday of March 1.
