Freighter crew abandoned ship

In the night of May 23, 2018, the "Citra Mulya 9" suffered water ingress in the engine room in position 05.33.571 S 110.57.747 E, about 30 NM northeast of Karimunjawa islands in the Java Sea. The ship had salied from Surabaya at 1.25 a.m. The 19 crew members on board sent a distress call and abandoned ship onto two life rafts and an auxiliary raft. The patrol boat "Kelimutu" was deplyoed to assist and recovered the castaways between 8.58 p.m. and 23.23 p.m. They were safe and sound execept stress and shock and were taken to Kumai, arriving there on May 24 at 3 p.m. before being carried on to Semarang where they joined their relatives.
