Sun May 26 11:41:34 CEST 2024 Timsen

The KMP 'Gerbanga Samudra 5' ran aground in the waters near LCM Gilimanuk Pier, Gilimanuk Village, Melaya District, Jembrana, on May 25, 2024, at around 05.10 a.m. WITA after being dragged by the current. The ferry successfully evacuated at around 08.55 a.m. The ship had just left the LCM Gilimanuk Pier at around 05.05 a.m. en route to Ketapang with cargo. During the turning manoever, strong currents and winds caught the ship which ran aground. Truck toppled over in high waves

Mon Jul 24 09:56:19 CEST 2023 Timsen

On July 22, 2023, at around 9.15 p.m. WITA a large truck aboard the KMP 'Gerbang Samudra 5', which sailed from Gilanuk Harbor to Katapang, toppled over on the car deck in the middle of the Bali Strait with currents to the south and winds of approximately 20-30 knots speed. A wave of approximately 1,5 – 2 meters height hit the port side which caused the ship to roll to both sides at an angle of up to 45 degrees. As a result of violent rocking, a truck broke its lashing rope and rolled to the left onto a tronton truck, causing damage. After arriving in Ketapang, loading and unloading operations were carried out, before the tronton trucks were dropped off at the Kartika beach pier so as not to interfere with the loading and unloading process at the Ketapang port. The removal was finished at8 a.m. WITA.
