Grounded ferry refloated
The 'Jembatan Musi II', which had run aground East of Sewangi Island due to the thick fog of rain and strong winds on May 6, has been lightered and could be uccessfully refloated on May 28. The ship was then towed to Batu Licin.

Efforts to remove the vehicles from the 'Jembatan Musi II' wre being carried out to lighten the vessel as of May 10, The local authorities wre still waiting for a high tide to make it easier to refloat the ferry. They have also instructed several large vessels to be on standby to render assistance, if required. Replacement ferries were inserted for passengers. Attempts to refloat the vessel were expected between May 19 and May 20 with suitable tides. The shipping company of the vessel and owners of the vehicles on board the vessel will work together on the compensation and insurance.
Ferry ran aground
The KMP 'Jembatan Musi II', while enroute from Fery Batulicin Port, Tanah Bumbu to Tanjung Serdang Port, Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, ran aground East of Suwangi Island amidst strong winds amd rain on May 6, 2021, at 11.40 a.m. The ship had on board 23 passengers, seven bikes, four trucks and two cars. All passengers have been evacuated by the patrol boat of the Batulicin Harbour Authority and Port Authority along with the patrol boat of the Tanah Bumbu Police and to the Port of Tanjung Serdang.
