Allision in Keratsini

On Jan 9, 2024, at noon, the Port Authority of Keratsini was informed that due to adverse weather conditions prevailing in the sea area of the new Drapetsonas pier, the stern-moored ferry 'Agios Georgios' (IMO: 7432733) broke lose and allided with the 'Smyrna di Levante''m causing some damage. No injuries were reported from the incident and no marine pollution was observed. The Port Department of Keratsini, which was conducting the preliminary investigation, banned the sailing of both shipsuntil the presentation of seaworthiness certificates by the classifiers monitoring them.

Collision in Drapetsonas

The Port Authority of Keratsini was informed in the afternoon of April 7 about a collision between the cargo m/v 'SC Phoenix' and the 'Smyrna' at the new pier of Drapetsonas, causing damage to both ships. No injuries were reported from the incident and no marine pollution was observed. A preliminary investigation was carried out by the Port Department of Keratsini of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus, while the departure of both ships was prohibited until a certificate of seaworthiness has been presented and a class maintenance certificate by the attending classification society. The 'SC Phoenix' had entered the port of Piraeus on March 29.

Allision in Piraeus

The container ship 'Contship Eco' was in allision with the laid up 'Pern' ex 'Kopernikus' in Piraeus on Dec 1, 2019. The ship sailed from the port on Dec 9 at 4.30 p.m. and berthed in Marsaxlokk on Dec 12, before continuiing to Thessaloniki on Dec 13 and arriving at the TCDD Izmir Container Terminal on Dec 18 at 11.15 p.m.
