Grounding on Lake Onega
On Sep 12, 2021, the North-West Transport Prosecutor's Office announced that it was conducting an inspection after the "Pavel Lebedev" ran aground in Lake Onega in the Prionezhsky region of Karelia at 11 a.m. near the port of Ropruchei. As a result, the ship suffered a hole in the stern, and its engine room was completely flooded. No fuel spill was recorded. The cargo of rubble will have to be unloaded before the ship can be towed to a repair facility. None of the nine crew members were injured. The reasons and circumstances of the incident were being established.
