Grounded ferry refloated

The "Lite Ferry 27" has been pulled off by the tug "Lite Tug 1" of the Lite Shipping Company during high tide on Sep 14 at 9 a.m. after it ran aground two daya ago near Mocaboc Island off Tubigon, Bohol. The ferry was docked at the port of Tubigon after the successful salvage. Personnel of the PCG-Tagbilaran and Tubigon substation oversaw the operation with the assistance of the Marine Environmental Protection Unit. The ferry had been was bound for Tubigon from Mandaue City when it ran aground due to limited visibility of a lighthouse in the area which served as the vessel’s guide due to the captain’s miscalculation. Tubigon’s seaborne patrol had responded to the scene and rescued the 63 passengers. Ferry grounded at Mocaboc Island

On Sep 12, 2018, the "Lite Ferry 27" ran aground at Mocaboc Island in Tubigon past 1 a.m. None of the 44 passengers were injured. The "Lite Ferry 27" which was bound for Tubigon from Mandaue City ran aground due to limited visibility of a lighthouse in the area which served as the vessel’s guide. The vessel failed to navigate accordingly towards the Tubigon port. A patrol boat was deployed to ship some passengers to the mainland, others were taken off by motorized bancas. A tug was called to refloat the ship which was then to sail to Tubigon port.
