Disabled, Pacific ocean, Kuril Islands

In the afternoon Oct 13 13 tanker Marine Alliance went disabled after her propeller and rudder got entangled in fishing nets, 45 nautical miles southeast of Paramushir Island, Pacific ocean in position 49 26N 156 03E. Salvage tug Suvorovets dispatched to the distressed vessel, ETA Oct 15. Vessel is drifting in WSW direction, speed up to 1.5 knots.

Tanker Marine Alliance down again

Russian media report citing Russian Ministry of Emergencies, that Russian tanker Marine Alliance is down again roughly in the same position, off Tsugaru Strait, Japan sea, en route to Nakhodka, Russia. On Feb 16 tanker left Hakodate, Hokkaido, after repairs, but engine faulted again, disabled tanker is drifting in Japan sea west of Tsugaru Strait. Reportedly owner of the vessel directed another tanker of the company, m/t Geogriy Froier, to assist disabled Marine Alliance. Geogriy Froier left Vostochniy port on Feb 15 destined for Busan, but obviously was redirected, ETA Marine Alliance Feb 17 16:00 Moscow time. Maritime Bulletin http://www.news.odin.tc/

Towed to Hakodate, Japan sea

Russian tanker Marine Alliance suffered an engine failure on Feb 7 in Japan sea in rough weather. Disabled tanker was drifting towards Okushiri island, north of Tsugaru Strait.
