Last Bremen class frigate decommissioned
On Dec 15, 2022, at 10 a.m., the "Lübeck" was decommissioned in Wilhelmshaven after 32 years pf service. She was the last active ship of the Bremen F 122 class. The class was designed and built at the end of the Cold War for submarine hunting in the North Sea and North Atlantic. Kai Röckel was grateful to have been the last commander of the "Lübeck". During her 32 years of service, the frigate has covered more than 860,000 nautical miles, which corresponds to just over 14 circumnavigations of the world.
