Performance Shipping Inc. a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of vessels, announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has taken delivery of the m/t Blue Moon (formerly “Maersk Jeddah”), a 2011-built Aframax tanker vessel of 104,623 dwt that the Company entered into an agreement to purchase in June 2019.

Diana Shipping enters tanker sector with acquisition of Maersk aframax pair

Greek dry bulk operator Diana Shipping, led by Simeon Palios, is entering into tanker trade through the acquisition of two 2011-built aframax tankers. Mutiple shipbroking sources including Clarksons, Advanced Shipping & Trading, Seasure Shipbroking and Lion Shipbroking all reported that Diana Shipping has bought two 104,000 dwt aframax tankers Maersk Jeddah and Maersk Jamnagar from Maersk Tankers. The two vessels will be the first tankers in Diana Shipping’s fleet, which is currently comprised of 45 dry bulk vessels. Each vessel has fetched a price of $30.3m, higher than VesselsValue‘s valuation of $26.69m.
