Fire in wheelhouse ceiling

Aboard the 'Martha Black' an electrical fire broke out in the wheelhouse ceiling in position 47 58 12 N, 069 41 48 W, about eight nautical miles West-Northwest of Cacouna, Quebec, on Jan 17, 2022, at 4.50 p.m. The crew was able to extinguish the fire, and no injuries were reported.

Steering gear malfunction off Sant-Irenee

On June 10, 2019, at noon the "Martha L.Black" reported that one of its two steering gear units was not operational in position 47 32 47 N, 070 09 11.5 W, 2.5 miles east southeast of Saint-Irenee, Quebec. The vessel resumed its voyage using the other steering gear unit and berthed in Qebec on June 11.

PRopulsion trouble during icebreaking task

The "Martha L.Black" suffered a starboard main propulsion electric motor malfunction while icebreaking in the Matane Harbour, Quebec, in position 48 50.71 N, 067 34.695 W, on Jan 5, 2019, at 03.40 a.m. The crew carried out repairs, and the ship arrived at Matane on Jan 7 at 05.35 a.m.
